CASE STUDY

Redesigned the Guest Services corporate website

Guest Services is a nation-wide B2B hospitality management organization. They had recently undergone a brand rejuvenation so the corporate website needed an overhaul of its design and content heirarchy to align with new brand logo, colors and style. The current website was several years old and lacking mobile-first functionality and structure. The main focus was to combine design strategy and marketing tactics to increase the conversion rate through the website.

TOOLS USED

Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress

TEAM

Creative Director, Project Manager, 2 UX Developers, 2 Marketing Specialists

DURATION

Sept – March

Problems

  • Users were lacking a sense of how large Guest Services’ presence in the market is
  • Users needed to know that Guest Services works within their niche
  • Users needed a mobile-first design

Solutions

This project was a UX intervention for the company’s corporate website which is intended to be a major touchpoint for potential clients. We emphasized communicating the brand’s story and positioning it at par with competitors in the same space. Directing users to the Services & Industries map indicated to them where Guest Service could be found and that they were in fact working in many niche markets.

User

Because Guest Services is a B2B organization, we knew that their users were owners of lodging properties within the United States looking for a management company to assist them with their day-to-day operations.

Research

Using analytics from the previous website iteration, we had a lot of data to know where the pain points were for users

Conducted many user interviews to find out goals and pain points

Many users were looking for brand story and niche markets

Takeaways

A versatile designer
with multidisciplinary experience

I have taken on many different roles and challenges throughout my career from UX/UI Design to Marketing to Project Managing in boutique and corporate settings. As a designer, I have worked directly with a wide range of clients to re-imagine their web and application presence while identifying their goals and user profiles. This means learning deeply about their mission and how best I can support their brand influence. In my marketing and design experience, I was involved in re-branding companies from the ground up to establish extensive brand guidelines that were implemented in all aspects of print and web marketing.

Kristen was part of a small graphic design group within the marketing team I led at Liquidity Services. We were stretched very thin, with competing priorities, challenging timelines, and limited resources. She handled every type of design assignment for multiple business units and new acquisitions, including brand development, web design, email design, infographics, brochures, signage and more, always displaying a thorough understanding of the user’s journey and goals.
